When we break free of self service and become truly motivated to serve others we will truly experience a new kind of freedom. More than anyone, alcoholics and addicts have been slaves to the misconception that self reliance alone would someday pay off. That misconception has led many of us the brink of catastrophic failure and utter collapse. Through working the steps we admit our defeat, learn to trust God, and clean up the wreckage of the past. Now we can experience true freedom in serving others.
