The Mechanics of Forgiveness

In cleaning up the wreckage of the past I must examine my motives in situations where something was hurt, threatened, or interfered with. Where was I selfish, dishonest, , or self-pitting? Where had my own self-seeking behavior later Place me in a position to be harmed? Do I owe amends in a situation in which I set the ball rolling? I resolutely look for my own mistakes. This inventory is mine not the other person's. What can I improve on? Have I examined my motives and invited God into the situation?
