A Daily Reprieve

Remember we are not cured of our alcoholism. What we have is a daily reprieve from it contingent on our spiritual maintenance program. This consists of taking personal inventory daily. Maintaining conscious contact with God. And reaching out to help those who are afflicted. Also recall in step two that we came to believe that God could and would restore us to sanity. At this point in our recovery we realize that the most insane thing we could do is pick up a drink or a drug after a period of sobriety and God given serenity.
