Willing to Make Amends

In step 8 we learn to forgive others; possibly we are forgiven; and we at some point learn to forgive ourselves. We learn how to understand others better. We are learning how to better live in this world. We are making an accurate list of harms done to others. Some definitions of harm are physical or mental damage, afflicting pain suffering or loss, it could be something that is said, done or left undone. Harms can range anywhere from making someone feel uncomfortable to inflicting bodily injury or even death. This may be very uncomfortable for us. But we will feel better when we humbly attempt to clean up the wreckage of our past. We will learn how to clean up the wreckage of the present. And we will be at peace and be better able to cherish the presence of the moment.
