Repent Through the Steps

Five Components of Repentance

1. Confession

2. Acknowledgment (that we were wrong)

3.Express regrets

4.Commit to change

5.Ask for forgiveness

We made a decision in step 3 to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God.Though our decision (in step 3) was a vital and crucial step, it could have a little permanent effect unless at once followed by strenuous effort to face, and be rid of, the things in our selves which had been blocking us.

Anything within us that blocks us from God's presence is sin. Steps 4 through 9 and 10 are a strenuous effort to face, and be rid of these things which have been blocking us. (Our sinful nature).

So we take inventory. We confess. We ask God to remove anything stands in the way of our usefulness to Him and our fellows. We make restitutions. Then we continue to take personal inventory. Seek improved conscious contact with God. And help others while living by spiritual principles.
