Sorting Our Daily Carry

Confession is good for the soul. Carrying around a bunch of secrets is hard work. It gives us a certain relief when we set down our bags and unpack our cargo and look at it.

Anyone who's been hiking, on a trip, or on any other excursion that requires packing gear knows that once in a while we have to unpack and get rid of unnecessary or cumbersome items we don't need. So it is with confession.

We can invite God and another person into discussion about things that happened, why they may have happened, what someone else may have been experiencing, what we might have done differently, and look at how others may be suffering. We can pray for resolutions. We can ask God to remove anything that is standing in the way of our usefulness in His Kingdom.
