Step 10 / Discipline for Disciples

We continue to take personal inventory and continue to set right any new mistakes as we go along. This is not an overnight matter. It should continue for a lifetime. Continue to watch for selfishness, dishonesty, resentment, and fear. When these crop up we ask God to remove them immediately. We discuss them with someone at once and make amends quickly.

“Jesus, I pray that I may, through your Love, continue to take daily spot check inventories of myself: To correct mistakes when I make them: To take responsibility for my actions: To be ever aware of myself defeating attitudes and behaviors; To keep my willfulness in check; To always remember that I need your help.”

By continuing a personal inventory, we are set free, in the here and the now, from ourselves and from the past. We no longer need to justify our existence. This step allows us to simply be ourselves.
