The "Let go and let God" Paradox

Step 6: “We were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.”

“Not that I have become perfect yet: I have not yet won, but I am still running to capture the prize for which Jesus Christ first captured me.”. Philippians 3:12

Step 6 manages to operate peradoxically. It states that we must fully own and admit that we have character defects. Then it suggests that we step back and do nothing about it until we are entirely ready to let God do the job.

We must learn to undergo god. God is pure and a free gift, but there is a necessary undergoing to surrender to this momentous encounter. To fully understand is to stand under and let things have their way with us. This is, strangely, giving up control to receive a free gift and find a new kind of control. Try it and you will believe the paradox yourself.
