Why Humbly Ask?

Step 7 says that we should “humbly ask God to remove our shortcomings.” We should not dare to go after our faults ourselves, or we may go after the wrong things, or a clever substitute for the real things. If we try to pull out the weeds ourselves, we may also pull out the wheat along with them.

Our truth is that if we try to do our own gardening, we will probably come out of no greater service to the Kingdom than when we started. This is why we want to trust God to sift us.
