Willingness is Indispensable

Willingness is the spiritual axiom in step six. The question is can we allow God to remove the things within which we have admitted are objectionable? We can perhaps find some difficulty here, for many of our character defects (sin if you will) may have a certain distorted comfort that we are familiar with. When we find ourselves unwilling to let go (and let God) we seek counsel with fellow addicts and, most importantly, we can ask God, in prayer, to help us BE WILLING. Remember, the program of recovery isn't for those who NEED it. It is for those who WANT it.
