Be the Clay

“My Creator, I am now willing you should have all of me, good and bad. I pray that you remove from me every defect of character which stands in the way of my usefulness to you and my fellows. Grant me strength as I go out from here to do your bidding.”

The posture of my heart in this prayer is humility, that I am the clay and God is the Potter. I have admitted that certain parts of my makeup are negligible and I am willing for the Father to remove them root and branch as he sees fit. I can allow the Spirit to shape me in the way that God would have me, not necessarily as I would have for myself.
