Deflation

At step one, we admit our powerlessness over our chemical dependency. We found ourselves in an unmanageable state internally as well as externally. Drugs and alcohol are simply not working for us the way they once did. We have to use more than ever merely to sustain our tragic condition. We are suspended in a perpetual state of self-inflicted misery. Physically, we have developed an allergy to the chemicals we depend on. Mentally, we are obsessed with our next fix. Spiritually, we are very ill. Restless. Irritable Discontent. We have barricaded ourselves away from the Sunlight of the Spirit of God. We have been serving an entirely different master.
