God is Everything
“When we became alcoholics, crushed by a self-imposed crisis we could not postpone or evade, we had to fearlessly face the proposition that either God is everything or else he is nothing. God either is or isn’t. What was our choice to be?” AApg.53
When using drugs and alcohol, we brought upon ourselves troubles and misfortunes that were out of our control. Unmanageable internally as well as externally. Dependence on self and all things human became futile. We had placed ourselves beyond all human aid. We had to come to a conception of a God of our own understanding and belief. We had to seek Him with the utmost desperation. We had to know Him in order to call upon Him. God could and would do the things that we could not do for ourselves if He were sought.
