Trudging the Way

Our personal recovery can never be hinged on how others will react to it. Sometimes the wife will never come back. Our parents may choose never to forgive us. There is a possibility we will never be reconciled with our families. We must take the bit in our teeth and choose the next right thing regardless of the outcome. Remember the 10 or 20 years of reckless addiction would make a skeptic out of anyone. There is a long period of reconstruction ahead. The spiritual life is not a theory. We have to live it. We ask each day that our Creator show us the way of patience, tolerance, kindness and love. As God's people we stand on our feet; we do not crawl before anyone.
