Inner Room Prayer

“But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your father, who is unseen. Then your father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” Mat. 6:6

When Jesus taught this he knew that the single room homes of Jewish people had no inner room. The listener would have understood that he was referring to the inner room of ourselves or are unconscious contemplative mind. This is a place where the truth is hidden to most of us and in which God dwells and blesses us.
