The disease of addiction is threefold; the physical allergy, the mental obsession and the spiritual malady. The physical allergy is an increased sensitivity to drugs and alcohol. This is an adverse reaction and does not occur in the average person. Next is the mental obsession. These are thoughts leading to repetitive behavior that are so subtly powerful that no amount of human willpower can break them. Next is the spiritual malady. This is a diseased state or ailment of our thoughts, beliefs and emotions. I will discuss the remedy in further blogs.
